CSA Opens Applications for Digital Content and Video Editing Internships

call for applications internship

The Commonwealth Students’ Association has launched a call for applications to its Secretariat Internship Programme, offering placements for Digital Content Creators and Video Editors. The programme, which runs for one year, is open to passionate creatives from across the 56 Commonwealth member nations who are eager to advance student advocacy through compelling digital storytelling.

The internship is fully virtual and voluntary, designed for individuals who wish to contribute meaningfully to a global student movement while developing professional skills in communications, media, and advocacy. Successful interns will work directly with the CSA’s communications and media teams, reporting to the Head of Media and Content Strategy.

Through innovative digital engagement and compelling visual storytelling, the CSA seeks to amplify student voices, advance educational advocacy, and strengthen connections across the Commonwealth

The CSA, established in 2012 at the 18th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers in Mauritius, serves as the sole official representative body for student organisations across the Commonwealth. Supported by the Commonwealth Youth Programme and headquartered at Marlborough House in London, it champions student interests through advocacy, partnerships, and global programmes.

A mandatory requirement for both roles is demonstrated experience in reel production. All applicants must submit samples or links to original short-form video work as part of their application.

WHAT TO SUBMIT

  • A current CV (maximum 2 pages)
  • A statement of interest (maximum of 300 words)
  • Links to original reel or short-form video samples

Interns are expected to commit a minimum of ten hours per week, participating in meetings, assigned projects, and independent tasks. Each appointment is for one year and begins with a three-month probation period, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. Interns wishing to resign must provide thirty days’ written notice to the Office of the Vice President, Communications and Research.

While the role is non-remunerated, selected interns stand to gain significant professional benefits — including leadership development, cross-Commonwealth networking, skills capacity building, and active involvement in CSA programmes. All interns who complete their term will receive an official Certificate of Service, with letters of recommendation and commendation available to those who demonstrate exceptional dedication.

Application deadline: 18 June 2026. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
