Commonwealth Students’ Association Joins Digital Leaders at Commonwealth Digital Roadshow and 64th CTO Council Meeting in Lesotho

The Commonwealth Students’ Association has joined key stakeholders in Maseru, Lesotho, for the Commonwealth Digital Roadshow and the 64th Council Meeting of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, reinforcing the role of students in shaping the Commonwealth’s digital future.

Representing the CSA on the ground, Ms. Tlotliso Suzan Manko, Country Representative for Lesotho actively engaged in high-level discussions, contributing student perspectives to conversations focused on advancing inclusive and sustainable digital transformation across the Commonwealth.

The week-long engagements brought together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, innovators, and young people from across the Commonwealth to support Lesotho’s digital transformation agenda. Hosted by the Government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, in partnership with the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, the programme created a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.

Key sessions, including the Digital Policy Forum, as well as engagements under the Women in Digital Forum and Youth & Innovation Forum, focused on expanding digital inclusion, empowering women and youth, and strengthening resilient, technology-driven economies across the Commonwealth.

A major highlight of the Roadshow was a landmark outreach to Zenon High School, the first school to be engaged during the programme. The visit underscored a shared commitment to advancing digital inclusion and ensuring that young people are not left behind in the digital transformation journey. Through collaborative efforts led by Nthati Moorosi and supported by partners such as the Lesotho Communications Authority and Econet Lesotho, students received practical support including mobile devices, school uniforms, and essential supplies—demonstrating the tangible impact of multi-stakeholder collaboration.

The event also convened distinguished leaders, including Sam Ntsokoane Matekane, Nthati Moorosi, Lejone Mpotjoane, Bernadette Lewis, and Kanono Leronti Ramashamole, alongside key partners such as the United Nations Development Programme in Lesotho and the Revenue Services Lesotho.

Through its participation, the Commonwealth Students’ Association reaffirmed its commitment to amplifying student voices and ensuring that young people are not only included in digital policy conversations but are actively shaping and leading the future of digital transformation across the Commonwealth. The Association also emphasised the importance of expanding access to digital tools and opportunities as a critical pathway for empowering students and fostering future-ready leadership.

As the Roadshow concluded in Maseru, the Commonwealth Students’ Association underscored the importance of sustained collaboration and continued advocacy for inclusive, youth-centred digital policies. The momentum generated through the engagements will further strengthen efforts to promote equitable access, innovation, and student leadership across the Commonwealth.
