The Commonwealth Students’ Association extends warm congratulations to the Governments and peoples of Bangladesh and Barbados on the successful conduct of their recent democratic elections.
We commend both nations for upholding the principles of constitutional democracy, peaceful civic participation, and the rule of law in these electoral processes. Such commitments strengthen democratic institutions and reflect the enduring values of the Commonwealth.
We particularly congratulate Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh, whose leadership follows a decisive election outcome this year, and Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley of Barbados, who has secured a third consecutive term in office through a clear electoral mandate.
The Commonwealth Students’ Association also expresses appreciation for the work of the Commonwealth Observer Group deployed to Bangladesh and the Commonwealth Expert Team deployed to Barbados. The dedication of these teams in supporting credible elections and reinforcing democratic norms is deeply valued.
As the representative voice of students across the Commonwealth, the CSA underscores the importance of meaningful youth inclusion in political decision-making and economic development. We look forward to strengthened engagement with both governments to advance youth participation, education and skills development, entrepreneurship, and structured dialogues that empower young citizens as partners in national progress.
The Commonwealth Students’ Association remains committed to supporting inclusive governance, resilient democracies, and sustainable development across member states.
Ends.
